so this my report on AWA, with pictures!
friday afternoon at 2 i left my school's campus with my friends, laura, peter, sherry, and katie to go a pick up my little sister and her friend and switch into my mom's van. then we drove to ATLANTA for ANIME WEEKEND ATLANTA! w00t!
once we got there we waiting in line forever and playing the word association game to pass the time. i also put my 4 totoro models in the art show room. then we played around a bunch and went to dinner and i'm sure no one wants a full run down of our every move.
significant to me is that i dressed in a semi-lolita/school girl outfit and had several people take my picture. i realized then that i was a huge picture whore. i always thought i was but when people want to take my picture, i'm so way flattered and my ego gets so big, it's not even funny.
also significant to be was talking to hsien lee, aka kusoyaro, the amv creator. he's kind of like my idol, is a mild way because i love his amvs a lot. that might be weird, but i really love amvs and i especially love his amvs. anyhow, i introduced myself and asked for is autograph and embarrassed the crap out of him. but i was happy and now i have the first autograph i've ever gotten from anyone ever! the only mildly sad thing is that it's on the one page of the AWA brochure that i really don't like. i'll have a picture of it at the end of this post.
once again, for the 4th year, my cousins let us stay at their house. it's amazing that we were able to not spend money on a hotel or even breakfast because they boughts us stuff for breakfast and some bags of chips too. awesome.
saturday i dressed up as orihime from bleach, sherry as witch hunter robin, heidi (marie's friend) as san from princess mononoke, and katie as gracia hughes from full metal alchemist. laura, marie and peter were just their awesome selves. mostly on saturday we watch AMVs including the contest and iron editor. we also did some shopping. laura ended up getting his first (possible) migraine in the middle so ended up not being there for a couple hours, but after a nap she felt better. we ended up staying at the con until 1ish and had many delightful conversations with random people.
sunday we got there a little later than we wanted, but it was all good. we went to the dealer's room to get things that we all wanted. i wanted a tachikoma plushie and after searching the whole place i ended up with the last one. i also ended up with a cardcaptor sakura model and an awesome totoro plush wit ha mushroom! yay! but possibly one of the best things to happen was that one of my totoros sold! it was the most expensive one too! so i'm going to get a $63 check from AWA soon and i'm so happy!
we had such a good time over all and i'm really happy with all the things that i bought. i'm also really happy with everyone who came and i can't wait until next year!
